Zumba dancing is one of the best ways to drop calories, shed pounds, and get healthier. Unfortunately, because Zumba is a group exercise class, a lot of people are too shy to attend. As such, they miss out on so many potential health benefits.
If you’ve always wanted to experience Zumba dance workout classes in Thailandbut felt too embarrassed to do so, don’t worry. You’re not alone. But that doesn’t mean you should let that fear stop you from trying, either. Indeed, it seems as though a lot of the preconceived notions about Zumba are only serving to fuel people’s apprehensions. However, that doesn’t mean they’re all necessarily true.
Here are some facts about Zumba that may help you rethink your decision to not attend.
You Won’t Know What To Do And That’s Okay
No beginner starts a Zumba class instinctively knowing what to do. This is the case everywhere, not just in Thailand. Once the music starts, you’re probably not going to be able to keep up right away, and it may take five or six repetitions before you get it right.
This is completely fine. The beauty of Zumba classes is that the routines are repeated, again and again, until your muscle coordination kicks in. So you’ll seethe instructor doing the same move five times, and usually by the third or fourth time, you’ve decoded the movements enough to follow along.
Rest assured, this gets better with time and practice. If you feel uncoordinated or frustrated that you’re not keeping up with your classmates, just hang in there!
No One’s Looking At You
A lot of first-timers are apprehensive at the thought of dancing in semi-public. This is a valid concern so many beginners share, but we can promise that it is completely unfounded.
Most of the time, your classmates are so busy watching themselves in the mirror to check their form that they don’t have energy—or the desire—to actively single you out. And if you’re concerned about judgment or laughter, don’t be.People who are trying to achieve their own health and fitness goal are generally very non-judgmental. They can, in fact, be incredibly supportive once you get to know them.
You Only Do As Much As You Can
Of course you’re encouraged to keep pushing yourself. Progress begins beyond your comfort zone. However, even Zumba instructors know that you’re human, and they’re not going to push you far beyond your limits. The intensity level of every Zumba dance is highly customizable, and an experienced instructor will give both high- and low-intensity variations of certain moves (for instance, high-intensity would be jumping, low-intensity would be bouncing on the balls of your feet).
Always go at a pace that works for you, and then do a gradual increase with each class you attend. Slowly but surely you’ll find yourself capable of doing far more than when you first started out, and you’ll get to that level on your own volition. Again, no one is going to cruelly push you beyond what you’re physically capable of.
Take the chance to experience Zumba dance workout classes in Thailand. Even if you end up hating it, you can at least say you gave it a chance. If you end up loving it, however, then you’ve got a great new activity that’s fun, freeing, and hugely beneficial.
